FAQs

Sending a fax or an email to an internal address works fine, but sending an email to an external address doesn't work.

When DocRouter receives an email that is not intended to be faxed, it will relay the message to your email server.

If your server prevent relaying the message will be rejected.

What "relaying" is:
  • A user in your domain wants to send e-mail to another user in your domain - This is NOT relaying.
  • An outside user (from the Internet) wants to send e-mail to another user in your domain - This is NOT relaying.
  • A user in your domain wants to send e-mail to an outside user (on the Internet) - This IS relaying.
  • An outside user (from the Internet) wants to send e-mail to an outside user (on the Internet) - This IS relaying.

If you want your user to be able to send emails to outside users from the MFPs, you will have to authorize DocRouter to relay through your email server.
